10. Jackson Pollock – Urinating In Peggy Guggenheim’s Fireplace
The collector Peggy Guggenheim met the painter Jackson Pollock after discovering him working as a cleaner at her uncle’s museum. She later commissioned him to create a large mural for her NY brownstone. At the unveiling, Pollock a known alcoholic and bad boy helped to make the occasion memorable by urinating in the fireplace in front of the guests who had assembled for the unveiling.
