A virtual tour of creativity with Neo

Do you have a pile of t-shirts in your drawer that are all exactly the same? Do you want to see what artists from all over the world managed to do?  Just click on www.tourism.milan.it  choose and vote for the best t-shirt which were designed by young artists who participated in the international contest IdeaMi which had the city of Milan as its inspiration, promoted by the site neoreporters.com in collaboration with the Bandello Group and the Municipality of Milan.

That’s not all! You can also “judge” the artists who brought originality to Milan in all languages.

To vote for both contests you can use the same link.

Néo, an international e-magazine (www.neoenews.com) has dedicated a special feature to IdeaMi and the 600 artists from all over the world who participated in the contest with over 1000 projects that represent Milan through a slogan or a t-shirt in its November issue. Designs, photographs and elaborate graphics representing the Duomo cathedral, “strangely coloured or three “fashion” outlines in homage to the fashion capital, new urban tribal belonging signs and rap quotations.

Now it’s up to you to vote. Starting from the 15th of November 2010, the artists that participated in IdeaMi are judged by an expert jury as well as by web-vote: they can be judged on www.tourism.milan.it or through Nèo (to join click on www.neoenews.com).  . The winner will receive a prize worth 1,000 euro for the t-shirt design and 500 euro for the slogan. The best will be shown to the public all over the world through the Milan Tourism internet portal (www.tourism.milan.it) and Néo magazine (www.neoenews.com).

Milano is unstoppable and is becoming a brand.

The city has decided to assert its appeal and in conjunction with a marketing strategy developed by a team lead by Maria Chieppa, Central Director for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Identity at the Municipality of Milan, the City Brand was created.

We created a brand that was not biased but is a brand of the entire city in which all the stakeholders of Milan can identify themselves.  It is an ambitious objective which we are working hard on”– Maria Chieppa told Nèo magazine- The city brand has this purpose: when I “buy” the Milan brand I am “buying” the values of Milan.  The brand we have created transmits the fundamental values of Milan: Creativity, Innovation, Knowledge, Generosity and Passion.

The Central Director of the Municipality of Milan goes on – “From a commercial perspective we told ourselves: if Milan really does have an appeal, that people really do have a certain image of  Milan why not make it possible for people to take this image of Milan home with them? The merchandising project started from there

The catalogue of products with the “Milan” brand will be available on the site www.tourism.milan.it by the end of November, just in time for Christmas shopping.

Also on Nèo at the end of November there’s a special emphasis on “creativity”: from videos that transform simple logos into fantastic locations by taking a virtual journey in the realm of “city branding” or by going above and beyond  the limits of art with Jonathan Meese, Wim Delvoye, Marcel-lì Antunez Roca and Stelarc
