Art 13 London Launches A Dedicated Platform For Performance Art

Art 13 London, has just  announced their Art13 Performances, a dedicated platform for the presentation and discussion of performance art. Art13 London – London’s new global art fair, will take place from 1-3 March 2013 (VIP Preview: 28 February). Programmed across the three public days of the Fair, and taking place on the hour, the dedicated booth will showcase 11 performances by international artists, representing the range of contemporary performance art being produced today.

Art13 London, the city’s latest global contemporary art fair is launching a brand new event in Spring 2013. The fair bills itself as the first modern and contemporary art fair in London to showcase on an equal footing, galleries from all over the world, with a major presence from Asia, Africa, as well as Western Europe and the Americas.

Art13 London has announced their exhibitor line-up for the first edition of the Fair, which will take place at Olympia Grand Hall in West London from 1-3 March 2013 (VIP day: 28 February 2013). The Fair will showcase modern and contemporary art from six continents, acknowledging the quality of work produced in countries such as China, India, Africa, Australia and Brazil. The total number of galleries at Art13 London is 122 from 31 countries, asserting the Fair’s broad global reach and confirming London’s position as one of the world’s leading contemporary art centers.

Art13 Performances will be curated by Amanprit Sandhu, who has overseen projects for the Liverpool Biennial and outdoor commissions for the Cultural Olympiad. Set against a site-specific backdrop designed by Welsh artist Bedwyr Williams, the presentations range from dysfunctional monologues to performances in which the audience are invited to become active participants.
