Brazilian Contemporary Art Takes Art Basel Hong Kong By Storm

Three major brazillian galleries are presenting work this year at Art Basel Hong Kong, between 23 and 26 May, the galleries Nara Roesler, Mendes Wood and House Triangle (Casa Triângulo), under the encouragement of Latitude, the internationalization project of the National Contemporary Art, partnership ABACT (Brazilian Association of Contemporary Art) with Apex-Brazil (Brazilian Agency Export and Investment Promotion), participate in Art Basel Hong Kong.

This is the first fair in the city under the trademark Art Basel. Among the artists presented by galleries are Vik Muniz, Joana Vasconcelos, Lucas Arruda, Mariana Palma, Marcos Chaves and Marco Maggi.

“This is an important time to get closer to a market for us is still very new and poorly mapped. Participation in events such as this ensures the exchange of information that allows you to maximize the dialogue between art dealers, artists, collectors and curators from different continents, allowing increased strategic business, “says Monica Esmanhoto, manager of Latitude.

Latitude bureau brings and works with the promotion of Brazilian art galleries leading and supporting other countries, as well as making exchange of critics and curators to visit Brazil.

Art Basel Hong Kong offers work from emerging talents to the Modern masters of both Asia and the West, the premiere edition of Art Basel in Hong Kong traces twelve decades of art history across its four sectors: Galleries, Insights, Discoveries, and Encounters. On display will be the highest quality of paintings, sculptures, drawings, installations, photographs, video and editioned works from the 20th and 21st centuries, by more than 2,000 artists from Asia, Europe,North and South America and around the globe.
