On the 14 April, a special screening of ROYAL PAINTBOX at the GATE CINEMA, Notting Hill presents HRH The Prince of Wales, revealing an extraordinary treasure trove of rarely seen artworks. All were created by members of the Royal Family, past and present and explore a colourful palette of intimate family memory and observation, in a story previously untold on film.

Viewers are taken behind the scenes to discover how growing up against a background of great art inspired him to paint, and how painting fits into the busy life of the heir to the throne. Set against the spectacular landscapes of Balmoral, Birkhall, Highgrove, Windsor Castle, Frogmore and Osborne House, and containing insights into works by members of the royal family down the centuries as well as the Prince of Wales’ own watercolours, ROYAL PAINTBOX explores a colourful palette of intimate family memory and observation.
Shot in the spectacular landscapes of Balmoral, Birkhall, Highgrove, Windsor Castle, Frogmore and Osborne House, “ROYAL PAINTBOX” features artworks by members of the Royal Family down the centuries including some of HRH The Prince of Wales’ own watercolours and with contributions from Lady Antonia Fraser, Lady Jane Roberts, Charles Saumarez-Smith, Marina Warner, Jane Ridley, Catherine Goodman, Susannah Fiennes, Countess Mountbatten Of Burma, Sarah Armstrong-Jones and the voices of Penelope Wilton and Freddie Fox.
