Top Artists Create Massive Action For Children Easter Eggs

Sam Taylor (Wood) Johnson, Billy Childish and Michael Petry are among the top artists who have created magnificent decorated Easter eggs for this years egg-tastic Big Egg Hunt in aid of Action For Children . 101 giant Easter Eggs in all will be hidden in cities throughout the country as part of The Lindt Big Egg Hunt supporting Action for Children. It is a magical event for families, whilst raising vital funds for leading children’s charity, Action for Children. This year, the iconic Gold Bunny from Lindt will be joining the hunt, rewarding busy hunters with an amazing year’s worth of chocolate, as well as giving out thousands of Lindt Gold Bunnies and Lindor truffles – delicious reasons to join the egg hunting fun!

At the end of the Big Egg Hunt all of the eggs will be available to buy at auction, with the money raised being sent directly to the Action for Children charity. The organisers are hoping to raise up to £2 million at the auction with proceeds funding the charity’s essential work in protecting vulnerable and neglected children.

So far the hunt has travelled across the country, stopping at Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool all to raise money for Action for Children. The two and-a-half-foot high fibreglass eggs have been designed by leading artists and designers. The hunt captured the imagination of the country last year when it landed in London for six weeks – setting two Guinness World Records, raising over £1 million for charity and engaging more than one million people. All money raised from the hunt will go directly to Action for Children, which works directly with more than 250,000 children, young people, parents and carers each year and run more than 600 services across the UK.

The Big Egg Hunt London event takes place from Tuesday 12th February 2013, where there will be an exhibition of the eggs for seven days at Covent Garden. They will then be returning to the same location on the 22nd March – 1st April 2013.
