Singapore rolls out the welcome mat to lovers of international art for Singapore Art Week 2018. This vibrant visual art showcase takes place from 17-28 January.

The 12-day celebration, now in its sixth year, stretches between venues across Singapore. Museums and galleries host some exciting events in precincts, and iconic destinations including the ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands. This year’s edition features work from world-famous artists including the UK’s very own Banksy.

Singapore Art Week offers art enthusiasts a diverse range of world-class art experiences, curated by renowned experts from across the visual arts spectrum, encompassing traditional, modern and contemporary styles.The range of activities happening over the course of the festival includes art fairs, gallery openings, exhibitions, and art walks, alongside many other events.

Some of the highlights include:

IS ANYONE HOME? Is an exhibition on childhood by Superhero Me, an inclusive arts movement which works with children from diverse backgrounds. It explores the worlds of six children through mixed media work and seeds possibilities of a future where children of different abilities can grow and learn together.

The Artists’ Voice: REFRAME exhibition is an exhibition featuring 34 international contemporary artists, with works that focus on the capacity and competence of contemporary art to transfer essential messages and existential revelations.

Art Stage Singapore: ART STAGE Singapore returns in 2018 for its eighth edition from 26 to 28 January 2018. As the flagship show of the Southeast Asian art world, ART STAGE continues to develop and bridge regional art scenes to create a stronger and more unified Southeast Asian market.

Art from the Street: Featuring nearly 200 works including on-site projects, paintings, installations, videos, archives and sketches from 50 of the world’s best-known street artists such as Banksy, Shephard Fairey aka OBEY, Futura 2000, SEEN, Space Invader, JR and Vhils, Art from the Streets is the first major retrospective of street art ever shown in Southeast Asia.

Century of Light Exhibition: International blockbuster Century of Light features two exhibitions – Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay and Between Worlds: Raden Saleh and Juan Luna – that demonstrate the range of painting styles and art movements that developed in Europe during the 19th century.
