BRIGHTON PHOTO BIENNIAL, BRIGHTON PHOTO FRINGE & PHOTOWORKS - PORTFOLIO REVIEW DAY
13 NOVEMBER 2010 09.00 - 17.00

Venue: Sallis Benney Theatre, University of Brighton, Grand Parade, Brighton, BN2 0JY

Brighton Photo Biennial, Brighton Photo Fringe and Photoworks are pleased to announce that portfolios are now being accepted, to be considered for inclusion in the forthcoming Portfolio Review Day. Our reviewers include the internationally renowned photographer, editor and BPB 2010 Curator Martin Parr.

Deadline for Submissions: Wednesday 3 November 2010

Up to 26 artists will be selected and invited to attend by a committee of representatives from Brighton Photo Biennial, Brighton Photo Fringe and Photoworks. Each selected artist will have at least 3 one-to-one portfolio reviews with editors, curators, directors and educators from leading UK photography publications, organisations and institutions. The selection committee will pre-allocate artists to reviewers based on their portfolio submission. Each review will be a minimum of 25 minutes including changeover.

Only successful applicants will then be contacted. We regret that Brighton Photo Biennial, Brighton Photo Fringe and Photoworks cannot give feedback on portfolios that have not been selected for this event.

Reviewers include:
• Martin Parr, BPB 2010 Curator, available to review a limited number of portfolios
• Simon Bainbridge, Editor of British Journal of Photography magazine
• Gordon MacDonald, Head of Publications and Editor of Photoworks magazine, a curator, writer and photographer
• Renée Melanie Mussai, Archive Project Manager at Autograph and Lecturer
• Fergus Heron, Artist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Brighton

Please note this event is only open to Artists who not currently in full or part time education in the Arts field.

BJP's International Photography Award has no theme. Photographs can be captured in any format, and in any style or genre. Anyone can enter, from the UK or abroad. All we ask is for fantastic images in two categories - a coherent body of work and a stunning single image.
