Review: Wild England

Wild England - ArtLyst Event

WILD ENGLAND

I remember Andrew Curtis from Payne Shurvell's group show back in June. Saw this last Saturday and loved it, maybe because it reminds me of how darkly disturbing the suburban experience is I grew up in. The work is very different from how it looked on the website. Close up the cracks in the perfection are more apparent, the thick black gloss paint is imperfectly applied and some of the images are enormous, filling the height of the walls. Subject matter aside, the work seems very much about process, both printing and photography.

I really enjoyed this show
