Mark Woods: Curious Body

Curious Body presents the work of Abigail Schama, Patrick Smith and William Martin; focusing on themes of function, dysfunction and the body. Fortnightly openings feature guest artists and new work to expand the core concept.

This week features Mark Woods whose work is subversive in its nature. It works in different directions to undermine your understanding of its nature. At first you accept the playfulness, thinking that you grasp the meaning, but you see that everything is not just as you thought. Various internal stimuli, other stimuli beyond those governed by the traditional senses exist.Freud said what interested him most about Surrealists, was not their unconscious but their conscious.— Slobodan Trajkovic
