Nomadic Gardens Winter Festival Exhibition

Nomadic Gardens Winter Festival exhibition

The Nomadic Gardens Winter Festival Exhibition is a chance to celebrate the Nomadic Gardens by exhibiting artwork that has responded to the unique space.

Queen’s Park Nomadic Garden is a DIY social space built amongst the urban sprawl of North West London. It is frequented by locals and their children who have formed a small, friendly community that helps maintain the garden, participate in arts activities, or simply hang out. Organised by Daniel Rockman and Rishil Parekh, it’s run by anyone who can contribute a skill, be it building, gardening, cooking, or anything else. Many artists have contributed murals to the garden walls and held inclusive workshops in the space. The organisers would love to see the Nomadic Garden continue to grow into a thriving and active creative community, and a seasonal event like a winter festival could be just what the Garden needs to open it up to residents.

A range of different practitioners has been invited to exhibit who have all come up with amazing ideas ranging from installations and interactive pieces, to work which explores decaying and weathering, repurposing materials, and Christmas including work by the following artists:

Vanessa Bizzarri
Alex Aitken
Florence Goodhand-Tait
Josh Philpott
Sinéid Codd
Honor Ash
Melloney Harvey
Alice Wickens

The exhibition is dedicated to Paulo Sousa, a dear friend and wonderful artist who was to contribute his work to the show, but very sadly and unexpectedly passed away. He is sorely missed and fondly remembered.

The exhibition will run throughout the Nomadic Garden’s usual opening hours until 2nd February 2018.
