Patrick Altes “Frayed Ideologies”

Hay Hill Gallery is proud to present an exceptional series of new works by French artist Patrick Altes.

‘Frayed Ideologies’ presents the latest paintings by the internationally acclaimed artist Patrick Altes and invites us to consider the struggle to define ourselves, and the process of being human. The work relates to the melting pots and breaking points of land, conflict, and diaspora. It refers to our living in times of extreme turbulence and instability – both political and environmental – and heralds dreams and resurgences from the unconscious linked to the artist’s personal vision and perception of the world.

Twice recipient of a prestigious Leverhulme Trust Award, Patrick Altes is widely exhibited and his work shown in art fairs worldwide and is internationally collected. His participation the Mediterranean Biennale of Contemporary Art in Oran last year brought to the fore his interest in postcolonial issues and East/West relationships.

The work will be on show at Hay Hill Gallery from the 29th of June to the  25th of July.  Private view Tuesday 30th of June 6-8pm
