Top 10 – Art Disasters

Welcome to the Top 10 – Art Disasters “A visual experience is vitalising. Whereas to write great poetry, to draw continuously on one’s inner life, is not merely exhausting, it is to keep alight a consuming fire”. – Sir Kenneth Clark

Throughout the centuries art has suffered at the hands of natural disaster, (Pompeii) conflict (WW2) and negligent owners (Casino owner Steve Wynn). Art is one of the key documents of recorded history. As any cultured person understands, we interpret civilisation through our greatest works of art. This is the highest gift from our predecessors. But when it is gone…It is gone forever!

The list is endless so please feel free to leave your comments on our Facebook page, if you feel we have left anything important off our list.
