Condo The Art Fair Alternative Announce Second Collaborative Edition January 2017

Condo art fair alternative 2017

The second edition of Condo — a collaborative exhibition led by Vanessa Carlos of Carlos/Ishikawa gallery opens in London on 14 January. The project allows new emerging international galleries exposure in the capital, without the high cost of taking a stand at one of the big art fairs. This is a huge problem for small to midrange galleries who tend not to sell commercial or big-name work.

Vanessa Carlos, has returned again as director after a successful first edition. The project will feature 36 galleries in 15 spaces, this collaborative effort will be larger and better publicised, (see list below)  Many of London’s coolest art spaces are hosting this year, with galleries from around the world exhibiting. from Berlin to Guatemala City — creating an atmosphere that fuses a group show, a party, and an art fair. Exhibition fees are capped at £600 to covering costs, and 100% hundred percent of all sales going to the exhibiting galleries, Condo was created as a profit making venture. Collectors are invited to view the various galleries in West, East and South London. A large turnout is expected.

The host galleries are well known in London and include  Sadie Coles, Maureen Paley, The Approach, Herald St, Greengrassi, and Rodeo, Newer galleries emerging galleries like The Sunday Painter, Southard Reid, Union Pacific, Carlos Ishikawa and Arcadia Missa will also be part of the programme.
