Made in his signature material, steel – rusted and varnished or painted – the collection of pieces at Canary Wharf will show a wide range of form achieved through Caro’s use of a common material. These sculptures reveal his invention and mastery of the kind of steel of which Canary Wharf’s buildings are constructed, while he continues to conjure lyrical and unlikely possibilities out of this metal through his hand.
