The AOP Photographers Awards is a celebration of exceptional work by the industry’s elite.
This year’s exhibition showcases the best non-commissioned and commissioned images produced over the last eighteen months. The quality of the images reflects the growing creativity and diversity of the AOP membership.
As ever, the standard of work submitted was outstanding and the response overwhelming. The second round of judging took place in the Gallery and was deemed an energetic task, sparked with lively debates. The final selection will be exhibited in the AOP Gallery and published in the AOP Photographers Awards book, available to purchase from October.
The Photographers Awards exhibition will be split into three parts, each part will be on display in the AOP Gallery for two weeks at a time. The dates and categories are as follows:
Part 1: 21 September – 30 September
Commissioned Advertising Single & Series, Commissioned Design Single & Series, Commissioned Editorial Single & Series
The selected images may or may not have been published but were created as a result of an external brief. The work is reflective of the high standards to which photographers must adhere in this challenging economic environment.
Part 2: 5 October – 14 October
Non Commissioned Body Single & Series, Non Commissioned Environment Single & Series, Non Commissioned Object Single & Series
This exhibition will display work created by the photographer of his or her own volition. The images range from personal work to images sold on a commercial basis by the photographer or their agents.
Part 3: 19 October – 28 October
Innovation Single & Series, Moving Image, Best Commercial use of Photography & Commissioned Documentary Series
The Innovation and Moving Image categories were designed to accommodate both commissioned and non-commissioned work that involves both new and converging media.
The Best Commercial Use of Photography category features work submitted by advertising and design agencies. It showcases outstanding images used in advertisements & design campaigns.
Selected images from the Commissioned Documentary category portray a truth, a narrative, a series of events that draw parallels between each other, a visual story across a set of 4-8 images.
