The art competition MaphiArt 2010, the first step in creating the future International Mafia Museum, was created with the intention of telling the Mafia, the historical social phenomenon but also a strong current in many countries, through various forms of expression through art and historical documentation . Also was created to highlight the transformation of behavior that society manifested and expressed in places where it is present. The purpose of disseminating this culture, with its unspoken rules and laws, is to create an impact that will inspire critical opinion informed and enriched by interesting notes related to curiosity and anecdotes. Given the innovative nature of the project, the sources from which to draw artistic are represented mainly by the works of artists selected from those participating in the contest MaphiArt. It is clear that the full implementation of the International Mafia Museum will be reached after one or more stages insolvency, in which it is applied to the artists to propose works related to the topic requested. This will involve international participation in a deep and interesting cultural exchange and artistic style between artists and those who will be involved in the project. The terms of participation requires that the works not winning the competition will be retained by the organizer, after careful selection, to become a permanent part of the museum collection. The competition of Italian or foreign artists who work steadily on both the Italian national territory and abroad. The categories include all eligible art forms, such as: painting, sculpture, traditional photography, digital works, video, installations, music, poetry, short films, photo light-box, etc…

Access to participation in this project is made through the site which artists are interested should register and then send their proposals to take part in the competition by writing to May 30, 2010.
