Bohun Gallery, Henley-on-Thames, is delighted to announce details of their annual Collector’s Prints exhibition which continues to highlight the quality and diversity amongst 20th Century British printmakers. The exhibition focusses on artists associated with the Pop Art movement of the early 1960s and the subsequent move to abstraction, facilitated by developments in printing methods. The boom in British Printmaking occurred with new silkscreen techniques developed during the 1960s and 1970s which allowed many of the ‘Founders of British Pop Art’ to manipulate the process to suit their new style of artwork. This included iconic names such as Peter Blake, Joe Tilson and Alan Davie – all of whom feature in the exhibition along with Albert Irvin, John Hoyland and Terry Frost who are all known for their colourful and vibrant abstract art. We will also be exhibiting Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Sandra Blow and Howard Hodgkin. Collector’s Prints 2016 offers the opportunity to view rare images by some of our most enduring artists and to acquire work by some of the leading names in 20th Century British Art.
