Contemporary African gallery Kamba Fine Art will exhibit for the first time at the MULTIPLIED Art Fair at Christie’s this October. MULTIPLIED 2014 is the fifth instalment of the UK’s only art fair dedicated to contemporary prints and editions. Kamba Fine Art will present work by contemporary artists Natalie Bikoro, Damiola Adasole, Emmanuel Ekoro, Eric Piña. Mario Macilau, Ingrid Baars and Kofi Allen.
Kamba Gallery founder Leyla Simple commented: “We are delighted to participate in these high profile showcases with examples of contemporary African art. The Kamba Fine Art hallmark has always been to present the best of modern art from different media and from selected African countries. Our selections are always a blend of established leaders in selected categories, complemented by a set of selected rising stars of the future – the combination creates a unique blend of the best of contemporary African art in all of its forms.”
Kamba Fine Art was established by Leyla Simple in 2011. Leyla travels Africa extensively looking for promising new talent, and provides the artists she discovers with a platform to exhibit their work at different venues and art fairs around the world. Recently she has exhibited at the Tribal Art Fair in London, and has plans for pop up exhibitions in cities across the globe.
The fifth installment of MULTIPLIED will feature forty contemporary galleries from around the world, and will showcase an extensive and eclectic range of prints, photography, digital art, artist books and multiples. As well as featuring works by established stars of the contemporary art world, including Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, William Kentridge, Sarah Lucas, Daido Moriyama, Cornelia Parker, Yinka Shonibare, David Shrigley, Gavin Turk and Rachel Whiteread, the Fair will also showcase exciting, emerging talent from leading graduate institutions such as the Slade School of Fine Art, the Royal College of Art and the University of the Arts London. Among this year’s exhibitors are BEARSPACE, Flowers Gallery, Marc Quinn, Modern Art Oxford and the Whitechapel Gallery.
