T A L K S

MINNA SALAMI will be talking about her personal journey of blogging about African feminism. Her talk will address what many are calling the fourth wave of feminism, namely The Digital Wave, and the role that it plays for women of African heritage.

MINNA SALAMI writes, speaks and advocates on a broad range of Africa, diaspora and feminist issues. She writes the award-winning blog, MsAfropolitan, and is a member of the Duke University Educator Network as well as the Guardian’s (UK) Africa Network.

GABRIELLA DARIS examines the fons et origo of Yoko Ono’s ‘Cut Piece’ and how the work evolved over the years. Seamlessly, it deciphers the many layers of meanings it consists of and brings forth a number of its critical mis/interpretations, including those by feminist non/scholars who claimed it for their history.

GABRIELLA DARIS is an art and dance historian, curator of visual cultures, dancer and choreographer. She publishes academic critical texts and lectures on the intersection between visual cultures, social anthropology, philosophy and psychoanalysis. She is the publisher and the arts editor of HYSTERIA periodical and a regular contributing author for Intellect Books & Journals. She is currently undertaking independent research on the work of Yoko Ono.

Mushana is an exceptionally talented U.K. singer/songwriter. Her distinctive style fuses pop, contemporary classical and urban soul genres to create her own unique sound. Her passion for music stems from a childhood immersed traditional, contemporary and classical musical genres.
