A UNIQUE DAY ON WEDNESDAY 19th AUGUST
To celebrate the life and work of
SIR JACOB EPSTEIN
on the 50th Anniversary of his death
Meeting at 11.30am at the museum we will embark on a fascinating coach tour to witness Epstein’s many monumental sculptures in London, see some of his great works at Tate Britain and hopefully pay a visit to his grave in Putney.
From 6.30pm there will be a private reception at the Fleming Collection with family members. Enjoy the current exhibition of work by Sir Muirhead Bone and his contemporaries and view fine examples of work by Epstein from the Ben Uri and other private collections. Dr Raquel Gilboa will also be launching her new book, “… And there was Sculpture”: Jacob Epstein’s Formative Years 1880–1930 during this special evening.
