The Sculpture Show

The Sculpture Show Bankside Gallery

Bankside Gallery presents The Sculpture Show showcasing eight established and emerging artists.

Featuring a diverse array of sculpture together with some paintings and ceramics, the exhibition will be opened by Scottish sculptor and installation artist David Mach RA at 6.30pm on Tuesday 26 November.

Conceived and organised by sculptor Sarah Burton and curated by Robert Turvey, The Sculpture Show has been designed to provoke and intrigue its audience. Featuring the incredible life-like figures of Thomas J. Ridley; the poignant, emotion-imbued sculpture and paintings of Bernadett Timko; the bronzes of Renaissance specialist Alan Pascuzzi; and the figurative work of Kate Cledwyn.

Jane Fremantle exhibits hand-carved abstracted pieces in alabaster, soapstone, onyx and slate; potter Lucy Cobb presents beautiful Korean-inspired raku moon jars, and textile designer Katie Mawson transforms linen book covers into exquisitely crafted new works.

Sarah Burton rounds off the show with her intricately patterned forms in rusted steel.  Sarah says:  “I wanted to bring together this innovative group of artists notable for their amazing command of their materials, a willingness to experiment, and their friendships. That is how The Sculpture Show was born – aiming to highlight some of the best current practice of contemporary artists”.
