Under the Rug

‘Hide and Seek’ Children’s Workshop

Freud’s study is like another world, lined with books and strange objects from far away places. The floor is covered with rich and exotic Persian rugs, which contain patterns full of secret meanings.

Taking these rugs as a starting point, we will be thinking about the idea of “sweeping something under the rug as way of hiding something.”

You will be designing and creating a rug inspired by Freud’s study and using it conceal a secret of your own.

All materials will be supplied.

This workshop is organised by Kids Company as part of the forthcoming exhibition ‘Hide and Seek’, to be held at the Freud Museum London 4 – 29 September 2013.

Free to attend. Advance booking necessary.

Suitable for children aged 6 -13 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
